Dad: OK, kiddo, it's bedtime.

Girl: Dad, can we read a story first?

Dad: Alright, honey, a short one. How about “Humpty Dumpty”?

SFX:BEDSPRINGS/COVERS RUSTLING

Girl: OK

SFX:BOOK OPENING/PAGE TURNING

Dad:(animated) “Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall. Humpty Dumpty...”

Girl: Hey, that’s a big egg!

Dad:(w/amusement) Yeah, I suppose it is a big egg.

Girl: He must be a Willamette Egg Farm egg, then.

Dad: Oh?

Girl: Yeah, my friend Stacy, her dad feeds the hens at Willamette Egg Farms and he says their eggs are the best ones.

Dad: Really? And why is that?

Girl: Cuz the hens are super healthy, and happy, and he says that makes better eggs.

Dad: Oh?

Girl: Yeah. And they're laid right here in Oregon, so they don’t travel far so they’re really fresh...That’s what he said.

Dad: Hmmm...So, if Humpty Dumpty here is a Willamette Egg Farm egg, then the town's gonna be pretty upset that he took a great fall.

Girl:(exuberant in her epiphany) Huh-uh, Dad! They’re glad he broke. Cuz now they can all have scrambled eggs and giant omelets and stuff like that.

Dad:(laughing) Ahh.
